Better late than never huh?

So as my last Disney post mentioned, I would talk about dining, fast pass & tickets next up. So, here’s the quick and dirty on that:

Dining Plan:

Wow. The amount of time I (and I mean me and Kelly and my Mom) spent talking about this, googling, reading blogs, it was ridiculous. You either just need to bite the bullet or not on this. This was my first time with the Disney Dining Plan, and because we booked DVC it was not one of those “free dining” deals. Which is obviously a no-brainer. But we did it, and I LOVED it! The hardest thing about it was reminding people (aka my Dad) to use the correct PIN. I can’t remember, but for some reason there was one PIN for dining and one if you wanted to charge it. Or something like that. There were a few extra Quick Service Meals because my Dad forgot to use them. Other than that, as long as everyone knows what to do, it was great. We had a few snacks left over on the last day and we bought some stuff at the gift shop for the plane ride.

We purchased the regular Disney Dining plan and I had made reservations way ahead of time so we had all our table service meals mapped out. I think that is key. You don’t’ want to waste those points! I think if I went back with just Mike me and the kids, we’d probably just do the quick dining (or no dining at all) I have a feeling our sit down dinners might be limited without the extra help, but we’ll revisit it next time we decide to go.

Tickets:

We went with undercover tourist. They were the least expensive. I got the three day park hopper that came with a free extra day.

Fast Pass:

Ugh. What a pain. Having to plan your day so far in advance based on what you may or may not be able to get for Fast Passes. I was so not ready for this. And being I hadn’t been at Disney for 5 years this was a tough one. We basically only did the rides we had fast passes for or had really short wait times. On Christmas I was talking to my Uncle, who loves Disney and actually took me and my sister when we were little there and he was asking me about what rides we went on. He couldn’t believe all the stuff we skipped. More on that later.

I think my biggest advice on this is, if you can plan far enough in advance, you really should. The MyDisney Experience is a great site (and the app…how did we go to Disney without it!) You can really have more flexibility with planning the further out you are. Oh, and there is a separate website to make reservations for Be Our Guest! Wish I had known about that. I didn’t even bother at first because I didn’t think the kids would like the menu, but we got to Magic Kingdom and all Jackson did was talk about going to Beast’s Castel. Oops. Next time buddy!

My last and final post about Disney will talk about the trip itself, tips and tricks I learned for our next trip, and a boatload of pictures. So get ready!!
