Renting the Runway....

First of all thanks to all that sent me their input on what dress to wear. I really had a hard time chosing which one, but in the end I went with the green Anna Sui one. The reviews were great, and even though I wasn't fully convinced that it would hide my trouble areas (hello tummy) I went for it because someone promised me that if it didn't work out she would drive to my house on Friday night and bring me a dress.

I was so excited to go home on Friday and see how the dress looked. Now, according to the dress description and the stylist notes, they said to order a size down for back-up. Normally I would go up, but went with what was recommended. I went ahead and grabbed the smaller size first (wishful thinking) and couldn't zipper it up. Okay, that's okay, I still have my "normal" size. I was able to get it on, but man was it snug. As long as all that was going to be required of me at the wedding was to stand completely still, I'd be fine. But I do really enjoy moving, sitting, dancing, and breathing at weddings so this wasn't going to work.
(try not to be amazed at my awesome selfie taking abilities....i know..it will be hard..)

After some back and forth on what to do I called RTR and spoke with a stylist. She was very helpful, but I was pretty bummed to hear they could only guarantee me a replacement dress by 8pm the next day. That's great and all, if my wedding was on Sunday. I told her to check to see if they had the next size up before I even went down that path, they didn't so that was the end of that. I will be getting a credit for the cost of the rental, but that's it.
So I'm bummed about a few things.
1.) the recommendation to go down a size was not right for me
2.) really? 8pm the next day for a replacement dress? The only way that would work is if I got a six day rental (is that even a thing) and had the dress sent to me two days before.
3.) a credit? really? how about you just give me my money back. I don't have any occastion that I know of in the near future that I'll need a fancy dress and guess what, I had to go out and BUY A DRESS anyway, so now I don't even need your silly rental.
So yeah...I was bummed. I did manage to find a dress at Marshall's. It was a bit more than I wanted to spend, but desperate times...
My choices...

I still like RTR and they did work out really well for me before, I guess it's hit or miss. I would still recommend it to anyone, I think I just missed out this time.
and the winner is...
